Industry experiences include but are not limited to: media, service, restaurants, hospitality, entertainment, retail, tourism, arts and culture, etc.

The Community Chest, Inc. (TCC), Ms. Kimberly Ruskan created phased business strategies to grow the business model in challenging economic times. TCC is a 501(c) (3) non-profit that supports community interests and enrichment through distinctive festivals and niche programs which include but are not limited to arts and cultural focused programs and niche projects (2002 - Present). The first project is the Taste of Durham Festival (TOD). The destination festival segments include music, culinary arts, wine and beer tasting, and interactive arts showcase with an international twist and high-end themes.

The phase approach was necessary to established sustainable revenue models to expand the vision and create new business strategies. Ms. Ruskan created business benefits and value to generate funding, new revenue streams, and build strong relationships for support from organizations, businesses, sponsors, etc. Even with sparse financial support, challenges as a start-up, and new concept for the area, TOD is the fastest-growing high-profile festival in the Triangle area with five years of consecutive success. The festival audience averaged from 10K to 20K throughout its progressive years. Visit www.tasteofdurham.org for more details.
